Psalm 18 – A Psalm of David
Questions for discussion.
- From verse 1 and 2 list the names describing God’s attributes. Of the ones listed, which one applies to your life right now? Why?
- As David cried out to the Lord, God answered. Verses 6-15 describes the Lord coming to answer. We don’t often think of God in this way. What do you learn about God from this description?
- David says that “the Lord has dealt with me according to my righteousness.” We know that salvation is by grace only through faith. David is not talking about salvation. What is he talking about and why does his righteousness matter? Read verses 20-27 to explain what David was saying.
- Read verse 37-45. What can you apply to your life from this section? What encouragement is there for you in these verses?
- David closes the Psalm with praise to God. Close your time in the group by having people individually say what they are praising God for today! Then thank Him togther.
